Over the last 3 years Ava has raised $33,000 that was put into an account with Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario to help families living in our Windsor/Essex area.
For those that don’t know, Ava Grace is a 9 year old warrior! She has had Epilepsy since she was 2 years old. She has not had 24 hours seizure free since. Ava seizes all night, every night. As if that’s not bad enough, Ava also has new seizures that paralyze half of her body making it impossible to breath during her seizures that last up to 5 minutes. Despite all that seizing, this little lady is always smiling.
Ava’s mission is to provide an Anti-suffocation pillow, to local Epilepsy Warriors. This is a pillow that has saved her from scary situations.
SUDEP is Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy; and is a very real reality for everyone fighting this ugly disease.
She wants to make sure as many people as possible, can sleep safe like she does. These pillows are over $200 each and shouldn’t be an expense that people have to think of. This year Ava has decided to add funding for our local support group. Epilepsy is a dark journey and this group is so important.
